Who’s dearmarintan?

I am an editorial assistant. an event enthusiast. a passionate blogger. a quiz hunter.  a culture and language freak.

As an editorial assistant: I currently work at a Japanese printed media, where the combination of the workers is 50 percent Japanese and 50 percent Indonesian. Basically, my jobdesk is to help the Japanese editor in making concepts of each edition, writing articles in English, reporting events, and interviewing people. I enjoy this job because it still allows me to have quality time (read: off days) every Saturday and Sunday, so I can arrange my agenda and put learning languages as well as having fun with friends in it. I enrolled myself to learn Japanese at Evergreen Japanese Language Course this early week of January. Hopefully, it will help me to understand what the Japanese work mates are talking about

As an event enthusiast: I really love attending events, meeting new people and making friends. If you have any happening agenda, please let me know and I’ll be there. I’ll do my best to post all the events I have attended in this blog, so others can read them and feel the excitement, too.

As a passionate blogger: I started blogging on Multiply a couple years ago. It was a personal blog, but it didn’t last long as I stopped writing there since lots of advertisements haunted my mailbox. Feel annoyed and that’s kind of held me from blogging for a while. Then I decided to start blogging here (thanks a lot wordpress, for these beautiful blog features) on July 23th, 2010. I’ve made a lot of blogs with different themes ever since. I’ve got a KPop blog named Hallyu Cafe, a world photo journal blog named Jurnal Dunia, and a free-themed blog on Kompasiana and Politikana. Geez, I’m a mother of many blogs!

As a quiz hunter: I love contests, competitions, quizzes, you name it all! It began when I was still in high school. At that time, I regularly sent quiz forms from GADIS Magazine. It took about 6 months or so before I started winning the quiz prizes. The feeling of winning is really indescribable, so here on my blog, I’d like to share some quizzes I find from my Twitter timelines or Facebook news feeds, or any website I accidentally browsed. If I have the chances to win the quizzes, so do you, guys. You may find the quizzes on blog posts categorized in “Box of Chances”.

As a culture and language freak: I love cultures and languages. I have attended and will attend many cultural events held by the embassies and cultural organizations. Attending those events enlighten my mind and made me realize that I’m only a very tiny part of this world. How I haven’t explored the rich cultures of the world. It brings me to start learning languages seriously and I decide to start it with the languages I’ve learned (and forgot) many years ago. This new year I will be joining Korean Language Class in Korean Cultural Center Indonesia and Japanese Class in Evergreen Japanese Course. My passion for learning languages has been flaming hot and I wish to have friends or (even better) native friends to practice them with.

That’s a bit about me. I wish by reading this, you will get insights of why there are so many post categories here. Indeed this is my personal blog, but since I love sharing, I’ll turn it into a beneficial (and hopefully inspiring) blog for the visitors.
